Bushi League follows all current arc deck building restrictions and rules with the following additional limits:
Only commons (circle rarity bug), uncommons (diamond rarity bug), fixed clan holdings in starters, and strongholds (any rarity bug) are legal.
Any exceptions would be listed in the 'Edition Specific Notes' section below.
So what is legal, exactly?**
Any uncommon(diamond symbol) or common(circle) card from the current arc and that arc's legal expansions.
Any stronghold from the current arc.
Clan holdings fixed in starters. These include:
Kobune Port, Marketplace, Stables, Iron Mine, Gold Mine, Silver Mine, Copper Mine, Geisha House, and Shinomen Marsh.
Direct to retailer and learn to play sets will be evaluated on an individual basis, please see below for edition specific details on their legality.
*Rarity is based on the MOST RECENT PRINTING. If you are unsure of the rarity of a specific card please visit www.oracleofthevoid.com to verify the most recent printing.
**If a card should fall into both the illegal and legal categories, that card is legal. For example, a card that was printed initially with a fixed rarity in an arc's learn to play set and was later printed in the core set as a common or uncommon, it would be legal.
NOTE: This is not a format that is acknowledged by AEG in their Comprehensive Rules(hopefully we can change that). We did not invent this format as various undefined forms of it have been played casually for years. We are trying to streamline the structure and promote it's play to help the game as whole prosper by providing a central resource for info on the format. Our rules are a general guideline for the format and we encourage local playgroups to adopt their own variants as it suits them.
