Name: Joshua Crisp (just Josh if you please) Location: Charleston, S.C. Clan: Crane
History: I've been playing L5R for longer than I can remember. I'm mostly in it for the table top and the lore, but it was the CCG that brought me in originally and I'm a faithful player to this day. I'm a loyal Crane player, partly because Honor was my favorite victory condition, but mostly because I really liked Kakita's story. My only really notable achievements as far as cards are concerned was winning a Winner's Choice in 2011, mostly because I don't have much time or desire to travel any long distances to have my brain turn into mush. In other words, I tend to stick to my local scene.
Personally, I'm a huge fan of the Bushi format. I think it challenges deck-building skills, requires the player to rely more strategy (rather than power rares/promos/etc.) and is a really great way to introduce new players into the game. Oh, and it is ALWAYS fun (win or lose). I'm really happy that a forum popped up specifically for Bushi as a place to learn and speak with those who share my interest in the format. I look forward to hearing and learning from you all!

Also, great name - inspired by Toshiro Mifune's character in the Seven Samurai, I take it?

@okami, Thank you. I heard about the forum on a Crane Clan Forum post from PewPew, checked it out, loved it, and wanted to get involved. Secondly, I am a huge Mifune fan and found that I was drawn to "Kikuchiyo" because of Mifune's incredible talent as well as "Kikuchiyo's" humanity. I could sympathize and identify with him. Besides, good writers borrow, great writers steal.
@pewpew, Thank you as well! I look forward to bouncing ideas around with you as I have read and tested a lot of your ideas from Kobune Port.

I'm a big fan of all Kurosawa movies, but Mifune was surely his best actor (particularly in Rashomon and Throne of Blood). I also liked Daisuke Ryu.

Throne of Blood was my absolute favorite. You can't beat Macbeth set in feudal Japan. If you haven't seen it already, check out 13 Assassins. It definitely was a misnomer and a great flick.

13 assassins was intense. Just watched it yesterday for the 100th time. I'm always looking for new samurai films but I keep coming back to that one.
