Played a little bit of Jade, all of Pearl and Gold. Life got complicated, picked it back up in Celestial and have been playing since. I've always liked the idea of bushi decks, but have never played one. I built one for the Grove City Kotei, but we left after the 7th round (no one made the cut and it was a long drive home). I play with the Harrisburg, PA group. We are having a bushi tournament on the the 12th of this month and I am super excited. Mainly because I am sick of Emperor but love L5R. Grove City was bad for me. I actually don't care that much about losing, but my all of my 3 losses were against control decks. Losing only sucks for me if I can't play - at least give me a chance! I literally could not play those games (Sudden Blockade, Know Their Minds, A Threat Enacted, Kitsuki Judgement, faceless with numerous Caught Unawares and Hidden Defenses - it just didn't stop. My meta didn't even have a chance at showing up). Not the forum for that discussion. Needless to say, I am so excited to breathe a breath of that bushi air!! I have a PoV deck that I put together (I've always been a follower of the Hoshi, Hitomi and Togashi ways). I'll post the deck soon. Some comments would be nice since I've never played the format. I see that some of you went to Tanukifest and Grove City (perhaps even DC). Those are the major tournaments I hit up (Atlantic City always seems to fall on my daughter's birthday party day). It'd be nice to meet you guys in person. My name is Robert Newara. See you around. I look forward to bouncing ideas off of you.

Hi Robert - nice to make your acquaintance. You going to Gencon or Tabukifest this year?
EE has been a really weird arc. In terms of the amount of clans able to competitively compete its pretty well balanced. That said, it's very fast paced and not terribly mistake friendly. It's a very strong arc with very little cost for powerful effects. Next arc is supposed to slow down considerably and I'm hoping it'll be more diamondesque.
In the meantime - enjoy Bushi! It's fun, cheap, and allows more theme viability.

I will be at Tanukifest, but I'm going to pass on Gencon this year. Hope to meet you in Philly.
You're right about EE. I LOVED the beginning of the arc, but things got intense fast. I played Enlightenment early and was successful due to the new Ring of Fire. I never made the cut, but 4-3 at DC and Tanukifest with most wins by enlightenment was a lot of fun for me.

That's awesome! I missed the cut at Grove City this year but made it the last 2, so I was pretty disappointed. Looking fw to Tanukifest now
